Eurocontrol Experimental Centre
The Eurocontrol Experimental Centre's mission is to carry out research and development in order to improve air traffic management throughout Europe. A Web-based simulator developed with ILOG JViews, the e-Cockpit, allows the center to evaluate experimental features for airliner cockpits.
Web-based flight simulator
Using ILOG JViews, Eurocontrol built displays that featured custom objects and intricate interaction capabilities, representing a wide variety of cockpit controls, and created map displays to show 'situation' (top down) views of all of the aircraft in a particular airspace. The simulation is extremely detailed, possessing the ability to show simultaneous views from neighboring aircraft cockpits. It also includes a number of predefined flight scenarios.
